Welcome to St. Mary's Church, Crescent

We are a diverse and welcoming parish, located in the crescent-shaped curve of the Mohawk River.  St. Mary’s of Crescent was established as a mission church in 1868.  Our present parish is comprised of about 1,300 households from Halfmoon, Crescent, Waterford, Cohoes, Clifton Park and Mechanicville.  The present church was built in 1964 with an addition containing a chapel, and a gathering area being added in 2001. 

In 2006 in response to a growing Hispanic population in southern Saratoga County, St. Mary’s began to have a Spanish mass.  A Spanish apostolate has grown up within the parish community, involving both English and Spanish-speaking people.

St. Mary’s has also formed a special relationship with two sister parishes in Guatemala for which several fundraisers are conducted annually.  There are also periodic visits to and from Guatemala by members of St. Mary’s and our sister parishes.
